Bellevue College hopefuls 2014-2015

Hey everyone, I didn't see a thread for this yet so I thought I would start one.

Is anyone else applying to BC for Fall 2014/Winter 2015 cohorts? I'm getting nervous with the deadline less than two months away. I did all my pre reqs there and it's my first choice school which probably adds to the nerves a bit. Are any of you finished with the application process yet? I think it's nice that this year, the background check is after the initial application just for the sake of saving money if I didn't score high enough on my TEAS to get in.

I got an email that our orientation is Oct 31st from 9-12 in room R103. I'm so excited to finally get started! Can't wait to meet all you other winter people!

I got in! I will be joining the winter cohort. I'm very excited to start and also nervous! They called 1/2 hour ago. I was originally number 19 on wait list! There's still hope! Looks like they're back at it.

Hello BC Hopefuls!

I want to caution you about Bellevue College ADN Program. I have known many, many, people who graduated prior to 2014 and they received a GREAT education. The instructors were great overall. For the most part clinical sites were a great learning experience. The program has lost several experienced instructors and will lose several more in the next year. The program is going downhill fast. Too few experienced instructors, too many new inexperienced instructors and a person in charge of the ADN and BSN program is ONE HOT MESS! If you want a quality education - go somewhere else! Believe me - I know instructors who are still there and they are getting ready to leave.

Hello BC Hopefuls!

I want to caution you about the BC ADN program. Before 2014 there were many experienced instructors, they had good clinical sites. I know many people who graduated from there and they were all very prepared to nurse. The program has lost a few experienced instructors and they are losing a few more to retirement after this year. The director is a joke and is so unprofessional even though she used to teach at UW. I would find another program if I were you. The programs reputation is going downhill fast and I know what I am talking about. Trust me you will get a better education somewhere else. I know two people who are graduating from the part-time program and they can't stand the part-time instructors. Sorry for those of you who are just starting.

I've heard the book list has changed slightly from the fall quarter that was posted above, do you mind emailing me yours and the supply and clothing list you got from orientation?? Also, has a Facebook page been made yet for winter peeps? For carpooling and networking? If not we should get on that!

Congrats how exciting! Good for you! Yes I can do that I just have to figure out how exactly so I don't have to type it all up. No, a facebook page has not been made...yet! We definitely should do that

If you go to Acorn uniform, they know the uniform requirements and give you a student discount. Just bring student ID. I suggest sooner rather than later as the lab coat gets embroidery and that plus I had to order part of my uniform took two weeks.

I agree, we need our own private forum or group. Especially considering some of the recent naysayin and unprofessional posts. Anyone interested, the trick being that this is a mostly anonymous forum and I would never request the personal info to find you on Facebook here. Would anyone be interested in meeting up on campus or exchanging information privately?
