Bellevue College 2012 hopefuls

U.S.A. Washington

Hello everyone,

I have just applied to Bellevue College for Fall 2012/Winter 2013 and I just want to hear from anyone who has also applied there. What are your TEAS scores? Do you guys know when we will hear back regarding acceptance/ rejection letters? Is Bellevue College your first choice or are you guys spreading out your applications to other schools?

Does anyone know where to get practice prompts or anything? I'd love to meet up and try my best to review (though I'm not sure how to go about that).

And do we write a full essay? Or is it a multiple choice test similar to the writing portion of the TEAS? I was under the impression it was the former, but I'm not sure how fast we'd get our grades back, if that's the case.

Accepted for BC Fall quarter ADN program pending acceptable score on writing test.

Congrats on getting in! Do yoiu mind if I ask what you got on the TEAS? I still haven't received a letter and I just want to get a feel for the scores that are being accepted for Fall and Winter quarters because I feel that right now I can be either on the waitlist or be accepted for the Winter quarter.

Any reply helps! Thanks guys :)

My letter was dated April 13th, so they JUST went out. You'll probably get it tomorrow.

Downton, if you go to bellevuecollege.edu and type compass ewrite in the search field, it will bring up some information. There is a sample prompt there, and it's the only sample prompt I've been able to find. You can also google compass ewrite and get to the website - there's information on the website about the scoring. Yes, it is an essay, and apparently there's some sort of automated scoring engine (not a clue how that works!!) but we are supposed to get our scores instantly. The prompt is supposedly about an issue and you need to write a a persuasive paper about what side you take on the issue. It's not about the side that you take, but the way you write. On my letter, it says we have to score a 7 or higher, but on the site, it says 8. I'm REALLY hoping it's scored on the 1-12 scale and not the 1-8 scale!!!

My letter says a minimum of 7 is needed, as well. Is a 7-8 like a C on a letter grade scale? Not sure how all this works.

And I double checked the website, too. It says we need a minimum of 8 there. Confusing!

I am thinking we can go by what our letters say and that this year a 7 is the minimum score. The bellevue college website has the application criteria for next year listed now and I think that next year 8 will be the threshold.

E-write done and not that scary - got an 11/12!

Hereshoping, details please!!

Agreed! Please tell us how hard/easy the e-write was :)

Oh, and update: I got into Winter quarter! Must now prepare for this Compass test :specs:

Obviously, I can't tell you the prompt that I was given. However, I suggest reviewing the information on the compass website about the e-write test. It will give you a situation and 2 solutions to choose from. It's not about which one you choose, but how you write it up. Be sure to back up whichever choice you make. It is done on the same computers that we did the TEAS on, though they will give you some scratch paper as well, in case you want to draw up an outline. You have 1 hour to write it after you go through the online tutorial. You will get your results within a couple of minutes. I have no CLUE how a non-multiple-choice test can be scored by computer, but somehow it is!!! I'm just happy I got it over and done with - now I can breathe easier!

Well done Hereshoping!!!! Congrats! You are official!
