Beldar: Starting Pathophys. Summer 2018

Published

Hello,

I'm starting Pathophysiology this summer. I'm not in a program yet. This class is a pre-req prior to the program I'm applying for. Which to me is kind of weird, but at least it's not accelerated. It's a 14 week class. Once a week from 5 pm to 8 pm. I'm excited, yet scared because a lot of people say it's hard and I really would like a good grade for this class since it counts as extra points to my application. I worked my first assignment the other night as a CNA for a staffing agency. It was a bit hard since technically you're thrown into the water. It was during the night so little to no call lights. A hostile patient or two. One because of bone on bone knee pain and the other was woken up lol This was a LTC hospital and they were a teaching facility but because it was just one assignment there was technically training. Also, as a CNA, I don't have a Stethoscope so I'm not sure if Patho will require one. I say that because I think there is a lab and clinical to go with it? Not sure.

Any tips? Not sure what to expect.

This is our book:

Understanding Pathophysiology, 6e 6th edition

By Sue E. Huether, RN PhD (Author), Kathryn L McCance RN PhD (Author)

Has anybody used it before? I'm thinking about buying it new on Amazon along with an online code. I'm happy for this class because it's in person so hopefully the teacher is nice because the last NURS class I had for school, the RN was RUDE and bit heads off like butter and I hated it because the class was online. This patho class is not online.

The front cover looks like a Cap N' Crunch mixed berry cereal-type color. Dark blue, purple, red, etc.
