I'm a new grad nurse and recently have started my first RN job. I have been working on my assertiveness both personally and professionally. Anyone have advice on how to become more assertive?
Of course that is a gross generalization, but in my experiences assertive women will often be described as "b88chy". I don't think that's acceptable and I do not agree with it, but I believe that is how it is.
You are not at all off the mark here.
My wife and I had a similar conversation recently regarding her 42 cd birthday, where I made an off-hand cheeky remark about trading me in for a younger model making her a "Cougar." To which she replied "What do you call the opposite for a man,..Just plain Lucky?"
I must acknowledge that double standards do abound around us.
