Hi. I am a freshman at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I am hoping to get into the competitive School of Nursing. I was just wondering if there were any places where I can take the courses needed to become a CNA, especially in Norhtern Illinois.

Thanks.

Well, I don't live in Illinios but most places (at least where I live) will hire you and pay to put you through the CNA course. Most long term care facilities will do that here in PA because we are so desprate for CNAs. I know our local vo-tech offers the course and I think it runs around $550-$600. So, if I were you I would find a place of interest and see if they will pay for you to take the course. Maybe someone else has better info.

Hello. I'm not in Chicago but in the SW suburbs. Some of the Community Colleges up north offer CNA classes, you'll just have to call or go their websites and see which one's in case it's changed. Hope this helps. :)

I'm not in Illinois either. Did a google search, and found this site. Hope it helps. http://www.nurseaidetesting.com/trainingpgms.asp

Hi, I'm in Chicago born and raised. I think the cheapest way for you would be the City Colleges Of Chicago (CCC) . They have 7 campuses so I'm quit sure you can find one near you. Besides you do not want to spend a lot of money since you are already in college. I'm going to attend Daley College (CCC) this spring, pre-nursing. I hope this helps:p
