BCTC. What are my odds?

U.S.A. Kentucky

I am hoping to get in to BCTC Nursing Fall, '09.

I am taking college Algebra this semester, plan on taking developmental psych and A&PI next semester. A&PII and my CNA course in the summer. All other prerequ's are met, I am a transfer with an A.A in humanities. My accumulative GPA is a 2.7 or a 2.8. Don't remember which. I have sent in my letter of intent, have my ACT, High School and College Transcripts in. What should I do? I know there is no way for you to really know for sure but do you think my odds are good?

I really appreciate any advice.

BTW, I am doing really well in my college Algebra course.

If you have more than 12 hours and it has been more than 2 years since you were in school and it wasn't part of the KCTCS system you can have your GPA recalculated on your current school work.

Thanks. I knew about the GPA recalculation. But I only have 6 credit hours at BCTC, when the current semester ends I will have 15 but I was only out of school for a year and 1/2. I think I can still do it though because one of the schools on my transcripts was from ten years ago. Not sure.

Well I didn't get in for fall 09' I got a 3.4 GPA and 21 ACT. supposedly 100 were admitted and of the 100, 70 were rolling admission!!! I can't explain how upset I am!

Wow, I'm sorry to hear that FutureKYRN. You were so close to the rolling criteria! I'd would have thought you would have still gotten in the program though with that GPA and ACT. Are you at least on the alternate list?

I am not even on the alternate list!!! Plus I had everything but Micro completed. Everyone I know is SOOOOO UPSET! As of right now, I'm in the process of trying to get into Midway.

To FutureKYRN,

How did you find out if you were accepted or not?

Check your myBIN account on the school website

I've been checking for the last couple days, but it still has the -- next to Accepted. Does that mean I was denied?

No, it does not mean you were denied. It means that a decision has not been reached yet in your case. You should hear something soon. If you don't hear anything by the end of April, I would contact Emily Piercy.

I am really sorry to hear it. I wanted to let you know that Maysville Community and Technical College has a campus in Licking Valley, and I am pretty sure they do spring enrollment. So, you could try them too. I am in Georgetown and Licking Valley is only about thirty minutes from me.

Oh, and I think that UK does spring enrollment too. Don't get discouraged!:wink2:

Also, check out Morehead State University. They have a Mount Sterling campus, seems no one knows about the program, I heard they almost didn't have enough students for a full class last year.

EKU also has a spring program.

I'm definitely not giving up!! Thanks everyone
