BCIT January 2018 Intake

Published

Hello everyone!

Now that the 2018 January applications are open, I thought that a thread should be started about it.

To those that are wondering, I'm applying with:

A&P 1 - A-

A&P 2 - A-

Psychology - A-

English - A-

Physics (elective 1) - A-

Philosophy (elective 2) - B

So, overall I'm applying with a 3.55 GPA. I have no previous degree, or relevant work experience. However, I do have relevant volunteer experiences.

I'm so nervous about my chances getting in. How are you guys feeling? What are your grades like?

Good luck to us all! :)

Hi everyone! congrats to everyone who got accepted see you all soon :)

Does anyone know if you have to confirm your acceptance of the offer?

Congrats everyone ! Can someone please add me to the group? It's not coming up. My name is Kate Statham

IF you add me as a friend I can add you to the group.

Hello everyone! Been quietly following this thread for a while now. I have been notified of my acceptance today as well. Looking forward to meeting you all in January!

Hey Everybody :)

I just wanted to pass along some info that I haven't seen posted in this thread yet.

Ok, so the 96 people who got offers yesterday, have until oct.30 to decide if they would like to defer until the April start. At that point, on the 30th, admissions will know how many seats are left for January and then for April.

Don't lose hope if you haven't heard anything, I feel like there is a lot of rearranging happening right now.

To the folks who got in already, congratulations, and see you in January ~

I also got the same message as everyone else stating that I passed the quiz. 96 offers were already sent and if by some chance those candidates who did not accept their offer then they will continue to send out more acceptance offers. Also, if they wish to defer their offer to April, they have until October 30 to do so. For those that failed the quiz will be given non-acceptance letters and the rest will be considered for april competition. The Nursing Admissions are trying their best to sort out and finalized everything until Monday. Congrats and goodluck to the people that got accepted!! And to everyone still waiting, just be patient :)

@twinkyswirl Same here. I will move to the Langara locale when I get back and start my new life. My old classmates had already started their nursing programs at different schools. It sucks to keep waiting for months and even years and doing the job I dislike but for paying bills.

Congratulations to all the selectees! Wish you all the best.

Hi guys! I also applied for Jan 2018 intake and still waiting for my results on Monday. And I was just wondering if I pass the quiz but do not get in this coming Jan, am I automatically guaranteed a seat on April? I'm not sure how it exactly works so anyone who knows, would you mind sharing your knowledge about the process? I really appreciate it. :D

And congrats to all those who got accepted!!

@FortuneS just as others and I stated in previous posts, they will only consider candidates who've passed the quiz for April intake meaning there's still a chance to fight for a seat along with other April candidates. Hope that makes sense! Those who failed are automatically out thus they will receive non-acceptance letter on Mon. So i think they will be sending out two kinds of emails (non-acceptance and consideration for April)

its amazing how this intake thread has 300 responses comparing to September 2017's intake thread that only has

We are too excited, it is promising :D

I haven't received any emails from BCIT yet. I am trying to remain positive but it is hard because I know I will either get deferred or rejected. For those of you who feel the same way, please never give up, never feel discouraged, and never quit. You are not alone. Remember your purpose, and if you want this more than anyone else, you will fight for it no matter how many times you get knocked down. I know I will.
