BCIT April/Sept 2018 Intake

Published

For anyone applying what is your current gpa, relative work experience, previous degree?

Does anyone know if you should include a reference letter? If you do, will it hurt your application?

Hi everyone,

I am applying with the ff:

Grades:

1. Chem 11: 96

2. Pre Cal: 99

3. ENGL 1100: A-

4. Psychology: A+

5. BHSC 1200: A+

6. Elective 1 (Anthro): A

7. Elective 2 (Socio): A

Volunteering xp:

1. 50 hrs (senior home)

How can I increase my odds of getting into the nursing program? Thanks

WOw! that's impressive!

The main things I can think of is having more university credits. Usually they like to see people with more credits than just the bare minimum but that being said they defs also let people in who don't have more than that. Doing really well on the questionare will be important too obviously. Really though, that's a strong application from what I gather.

Oh I just listed the prerequisites. Actually, I'm taking health related courses at kwantlen. After this fall sem, I think I will earn 27 post sec credits

In terms of xp, I'm not really sure if I need to do more volunteering work.

I just got into the BCIT jan 2018 intake and i was from KPU as well. (health foundations) those courses help a lot for credits. I wish you luck!

I wouldn't worry about that. I had less volunteer experience than you and I got in first time. Do you have any work experience in customer service? I used my skills from my work experience as examples for my questionaire

I do. I work as a cashier. I hope it helps.

After your application, can you get approve right away based on your credentials & xp? Or you need to get shortlisted first, then answer the non-cognitive questionnaire, and wait to get an offer?

Thanks

Short listed and then the questionnaire. And thanks, I'm actually just finishing level 2 so let me know if you have questions

I have applied for the Fall September 2018 intake, not sure how to calculate my GPA but have 10 years of work experience in health care. Fingers crossed!!

Hey arrynbaratheon,

Im also at KPU in the health foundation program but planning to take BCIT 1200 in the fall. How did you find the course? I'm pretty intimated by the amount of course work since its condensed.

Does anyone know if they will just look at our pereq gpa or cgpa ?
