Baypath Tech in Charlton Ma

Published

Hello, I am trying to get into the fall 2011 LPN program at Baypath Tech and was wandering if anyone else is to. Also wanted to know if anyone on here has been through their program or is currently going through it and how it is. I have taken my Teas V in November and passed so I am waiting for them to send out their application packets in January. Any Info would be appreciated, Thanks

Hi! I'm also trying to get into the program. I took the TEAS V in November, and passed it, too. Now I guess just waiting for applications to be mailed out... I'm on the waiting list for Quinsig's LPN program (Fall 2011), and am currently taking classes to put towards my RN in the future... but I have my hopes set on Bay Path for their program. It was nice to find someone else on here who is trying to get in!! :) I can't wait to get started on the application, lol.

Hello, Well I can't wait to get the application either it seems to be all I have been thinking about I just really want to get started on everything. I am hoping to become an LPN then while I work, go to school and work on becoming an RN but one step at a time. Do you happen to know if they get to many applicants and have to reject any? Hopefully we will make it.

Hi again :) I think they said that they are planning to accept about 26 people, and they figure about 23 will stay with the class (others will drop out due to financial or scheduling conflicts, etc). I think the woman said that about 50 percent of the people who take the TEAS pass it, and that they had around 100-something take the test last year. So I'm figuring about 50 or so made it through to the application process (I could be wrong here, I'm trying to remember what was exactly told to us at the information session). I ran into another girl who took the TEAS V with us in November (very nice person), and she said she passed it as well. Have you looked into LPN programs anywhere else? I love the idea of Bay Path, due to their high pass rate on the NCLEX, and its so close to home. It seems like a great program, but I at least have a spot at Quinsig as a back-up plan. I hope that we both get in! :) let's keep our fingers crossed that we get our applications soon, its very exciting.

Hello I haven't been on in a while with the holidays and all. Hope you had a nice holiday. I did not apply any where else because I am in the Northeast part of Ct and there is not many places here that have the LPN program so this was the closest for me I really am hoping that I get accepted into the program, I hope it helps that I was a CNA for eight years in the past. I was wandering if maybe this particular program would not have as many applicants due to the fact that it is in the evening, not to sure. I was looking at Diman or Assibet but did not apply. It is much further for me. Well I think applying early and passing the teas the first time should help us. I'll let you know if I get my app if you could do the same. thanks!

I know what you mean, I was actually surprised that so many people are trying to get in. I really wasn't looking to get into a night program, I just have a better feeling about going to Bay Path, than Quinsig. I hope you get in, too, you sound like you'll make a great nurse! I hope they send out the applications soon. I was actually surprised that so many people passed this version of the TEAS on the first try, I took Version 4 in July, and I passed that (had to re-take the one for Bay Path since they require that you take it there), and I really thought Version 5 was more difficult. If you have this in your heart, I'm sure you will get it. Is Bay Path far for you?

Bay Path is about 30-35 minutes for me but its a nice drive highway then ten min on back roads and I know the area real well so Baypath is definately my preferred choice. I actually wanted to be a nurse years ago when I was a CNA but my kids were little so it just didn't feel like the right time for me then. I was surprised about the passing of the test to because of the research I did online it seems that this version of the test is difficult. I know I thought so to. I studied alot. You said the school is close for you? Do you have children to?

I'm glad that it's not a bad ride for you, that always makes it easier. The school is about a ten minute drive from my house, which is one of the main reasons I really want to go there. It's really too bad that there are not more programs like this out there. The waiting list for this program at Quinsigamond is a little over a year long for me (after I finished pre-reqs), and the RN program list was much longer. So it's kind of a pain, you can either decide to fork over $40,000 a year to a private school (if you even get accepted), or get stuck on a long waiting list. Ugh. I'm married, but no kids. I give you tons of credit for doing this for yourself :) So many people just "don't bother" after having kids. I haven't worked in the "human" medical field before, I worked as a vet tech for 5 years, and before that I was in the military. So this is kind of a change for me, but I feel like it's right... The fact that you have prior experience as a CNA will be great for you, I'm sure. Did you attend the orientation?

No I actually didn't attend the orientation in October because I had called the school in September and asked a ton of questions and the girl I spoke with told me that they would be going over what her and I was talking about so I skipped it. I am married as well so having a husband to help and to have the support is important for me. I filled out my FASFA today, I wanted to be early for that as well. Hopefully you won't have to wait for your spot at Quin. I am trying to remember the people that were testing that day and wandering who you may be, I was sitting down by the vending machines at the end of the table.

Hi! I just wanted to let you know that I just received the application from Bay Path. Did you get yours yet? The part I'm wondering about is the Reference forms... I think it says that they are to be mailed by the person GIVING the recommendation, but I'm not sure if they are supposed to stay WITH the application booklet or not. Ugh. I think I will email them to find out... I think I was sitting by the vending machines, too, I have long blond hair..

EDIT: Nevermind... if I hadn't quickly breezed through it, I would see that it sas they are to be completed and mailed seperately...

I remember who you are. I think you spoke about the other school the day we were there. When I called about the applications in December, the girl I spoke with said that the references you choose had to fill it out and mail it back themselves but I did not get mine yet to see it. Maybe I will get it tomorrow because I'm in Connecticut, it may take one day longer. Thanks for letting me know. Good luck with everything! Keep in touch if you get an interview.
