  1. Thanks for the quick responses. I appreciate it. It does say "new" on amazon for both books. I already called my school and they only said that the books on the list are the ones they want me to have and it says the name of the book/cd so I was concerned but she said the cds are helpful so I didn't get the impression from her that they were mandatory for learning. Thanks again.
  2. Hello, I was accepted to an lpn program for this fall and I ordered my many books I will need. I decided to order online thru a couple different sites to save money and when I received them in the mail two of the books did not have the cd's in the back. I ordered all new books so there would be no problems, then this. My question is if you are currently in school or when you went to school did you use them? Are they real important, I am not sure what I should do? I went back on Amazon, which is where these two came from and it does not specify the cd on the site. Sorry if this sounds like a silly question. Thanks for any input.
  3. Gift card for your local uniform shop, traveling coffee mug, or gift card for a coffee shop. What new nurse couldn't use this.
  4. Hello, I am doing good, waiting....... for an interview. It seems like forever, doesn't it? I did send in my application already and I am hoping my references sent in the forms already also. I am hoping because we started early that will help us but not sure how they work their admission.
  5. KJK509, I called about an interview and they are waiting until they have a few people to interview. They said it may be March or later before I hear back, I was wandering if you have heard anything. I think I am going to mail my application in because of the wait so they will have it because you can take it with you or send it in. I hope they receive all my references this week and my transcript next week. How are you doing?
  6. Yes I did. I was wandering if we can go ahead with taking a CPR class or if that is something they will want us to take there or at a particular place. Do you happen to know? I was also wandering how lola did with her teas cause I know she was nervous.
  7. I thought the FAFSA was quick and easy for the most part. The only thing is that I had to estimate the income tax because of course its to early so when I called Federal Aide about that they said it was not a problem. I just have to go back after I have my taxes done and correct what is not accurate. You need to have some info ready, last pay stub of the year, drivers license #, I had my 2009 tax return to refer to and alot of real basic questions of course you will know the answer to already like ss# and personal info. O and yes I did do it online, they prefer it that way.
  8. Hooray I received my application today and already working on things.
  9. hello lolabunni56, I have only taken the teas v and I also thought it was tough but I have also been out of school for a long time and fortunately I did pass it the first time. I bought the study guide from ATI and felt it was a big help. I thought the book was similar to the real test and think I would not have done near as good without it. Good luck to you and welcome to New England.
  10. I feel like a crazy lady waiting for the mailman today! I have a ged, and I have the transcript that came with it. I am wandering if that is what I am going to need to send or if I will still need to get info from my high school.
  11. I remember who you are. I think you spoke about the other school the day we were there. When I called about the applications in December, the girl I spoke with said that the references you choose had to fill it out and mail it back themselves but I did not get mine yet to see it. Maybe I will get it tomorrow because I'm in Connecticut, it may take one day longer. Thanks for letting me know. Good luck with everything! Keep in touch if you get an interview.
  12. No I actually didn't attend the orientation in October because I had called the school in September and asked a ton of questions and the girl I spoke with told me that they would be going over what her and I was talking about so I skipped it. I am married as well so having a husband to help and to have the support is important for me. I filled out my FASFA today, I wanted to be early for that as well. Hopefully you won't have to wait for your spot at Quin. I am trying to remember the people that were testing that day and wandering who you may be, I was sitting down by the vending machines at the end of the table.
  13. Bay Path is about 30-35 minutes for me but its a nice drive highway then ten min on back roads and I know the area real well so Baypath is definately my preferred choice. I actually wanted to be a nurse years ago when I was a CNA but my kids were little so it just didn't feel like the right time for me then. I was surprised about the passing of the test to because of the research I did online it seems that this version of the test is difficult. I know I thought so to. I studied alot. You said the school is close for you? Do you have children to?
  14. Hello I haven't been on in a while with the holidays and all. Hope you had a nice holiday. I did not apply any where else because I am in the Northeast part of Ct and there is not many places here that have the LPN program so this was the closest for me I really am hoping that I get accepted into the program, I hope it helps that I was a CNA for eight years in the past. I was wandering if maybe this particular program would not have as many applicants due to the fact that it is in the evening, not to sure. I was looking at Diman or Assibet but did not apply. It is much further for me. Well I think applying early and passing the teas the first time should help us. I'll let you know if I get my app if you could do the same. thanks!
  15. Hello, Well I can't wait to get the application either it seems to be all I have been thinking about I just really want to get started on everything. I am hoping to become an LPN then while I work, go to school and work on becoming an RN but one step at a time. Do you happen to know if they get to many applicants and have to reject any? Hopefully we will make it.
