Baylor university med center?

Does anyone work at a Baylor facility in Texas? We are relocating to Texas this summer and I'd like to apply. The only catch is they are magnet status and in all their job postings, it says BSN required. I have 4.5 yrs experience as a nurses and am slated to start my BSN in February. I'm hoping to complete it in 6-12 months(competency based program at WGU) but I am curious if anyone knows if they will hire you without the BSN if you are enrolled in a program?

Also if anyone does work for them, how is it ? Benefits? Pay? Anything you would like to add! I do Mother/baby nursing and would love to work here as I've heard it's a really good place to work!

I have worked there for several years and can help answer some of them.

In general, I have enjoyed working for Baylor, and in general the nurse to patient ratios are lower compared to other DFW hospitals. I have worked for 2 others in the last 10 years. Hourly pay is slightly lower compared to UT Southwestern or Medical City. However, Baylor downtown pays bonuses to nurses 2x year if they meet quality goals. Each bonus it is approximately $900-$1500 depending on quality numbers. This is only done at the Dallas hospital, not other Baylors.

If you don't have a BSN, you will be asked to sign an agreement form to get it completed within 3 years. Benefits are ok. I cover my whole family and pay $25 per visit if we pick a Tier 1 provider. Tier 2 or out of network are more and not recommended. UT Southwestern or THR have better benefits.

Mother baby has a low turnover, and great management. Good luck!

They would probably be very satisfied if you are already enrolled and working on your BSN, but you will need to get that on your resume so they can consider you.

I worked for Baylor and thought it was pretty good as far as big conglomerate healthcare giants go.
