Hey, I wanted to start this thread for all of us applying for any Baylor Scott & White locations to keep each other updated with responses and interviews. I applied for BUMC specifically.

I also did see that but IDK if I’m going crazy but I taught I was told we would have like 2-3 week grace period. But I guess not.

hey! u so got this!! I wanted to touch base with you because my floor director contacted me and asked for updates with onboarding! I mentioned how I had recently passed my boards and the way she made it sound was like some people start and still have to take them! so, maybe the offer letter has some loopholes and you can start without it! take your time studying, you got this!!

Hey guys, for those of you starting on the 31st, I want to make sure I didn’t miss anything and please let me know if I did.

background check, drug/tb test, employee health screen appointment, and virtual GN mixer. 
that is everything thing I know about, is there anything else I should know? Also is there a GN facebook group I can join?

Yes that is all. Also, Is everyone testing for the NCLEX prior to the start date?

What is the new graduate mixer? Also, I have not gotten my ATT to test for the NCLEX yet. I registered about 3 weeks ago. I’m worried about that set back. Anyone else having to issue?

The virtual grad mixer is a meet and greet/informal get together for new graduate nurses at BUMC. If you will be at BUMC, you would have received an invite from the nursing educator there. 
 

as far as NCLEX, I was told that we could take it the first time after our start date as long as we have an active GN permit. However, I am reaching out to get a definitive deadline.

New graduate mixer is a virtual thing they’re hosting. Not sure if every location is having a separate one or if all the new grads are in the same Teams Meeting.

 

I tested a couple weeks ago bc I wanted to give myself time to review and retest if I needed. Some people in my class still haven’t gotten their ATT but I’m not really sure how that all works… I think you’ll be fine! They said there are people who don’t test until after orientation and still just continued on through.

I got an offer from Baylor Waxahachie and they haven’t sent anything about a mixer yet. 
 

I really regret not testing sooner. I was doing the green light program through my school and that held me back a bit longer than I wanted to. I wanted to reach out to my manager and ensure that I would be fine but I also heard what you mentioned. So hopefully there’s no penalties for not testing before start date.

Noooo definitely no penalties! Don’t worry about that! Also, if you wanna test sooner, I would keep looking every morning bc people reschedule all the time. I randomly checked a couple weeks ago and found a test date for 3 days later at the location closest to me!

Good to know! And I wish I could look at the schedule. Since I haven’t received my ATT I can’t even look at the testing days. Unless there’s a way to look even if you don’t have your ATT?

Not that I know of ? I hope it comes soon!! Also my classmate found it in her spam so keep an eye out on that too!

hey, so just checking to see if you paid both the $200 testing fee and then the $100 fee on the tbon site? I knew some people whose ATT had not come in because they forgot about the tbon or something like that!

Thank you ladies! I will keep out an eye on my spam box as well! And yes, I paid both fees already. I’m not sure why it’s taking so long. My anxiety has been off the roof.
