I too was waiting for an answer to your question!

Specializes in ICU.

I am interested in this hospital myself, but in Psych. Can someone tell me the Patient ratio and the possible pay rate with 3yrs exp ( RN) Please?

Specializes in ICU.

hopefully we get someone to respond to us.

Specializes in ICU (med/surgical/transplant/neuro/ent).

Been working at BASMC for 1 year now. Can't really answer your question regarding patient ratios, I work in the ICU (2:1, and if needed 3:1). Re payrate, I started a year ago (new grad) @ $21/hr. A year ago this pay rate was consistent with many area hospitals starting GN/New RN salaries.

Not much help, I know. Hopefully it will help give you a small idea.

Hope you can get some more specific answers to your questions.

Good Luck.

I don't know the ratios in all of the specific units but I know they are trying really hard to keep it down, keep RNs happy and increase retention. I worked for that hospital for 10+ years and while there were some moments that were frustrating, I can say all in all it was a great place to work. They were always very flexible with my career paths and with my requests for hours/days I wanted to work. I changed seamlessly many times from full-time to part-time, to PRN and back again to part-time while in grad school. They have *amazing* on-site child care right at the hospital. The child care is so wonderful that more than a few physicians have their kids there as well and there is a LONG wait to get your child in because word is out in the community that it is such a great place. My child is in school now and she only attended child-care part-time there, but she STILL likes to go back and visit with her teachers and MOST of them are still there..wonderful retention.

As far as pay, they have always been very consistent with making sure they paid accordingly with other DFW hospitals. The PRN rate (with no benefits) was > 32.00 when I left a few years ago.

Awww I accepted a position at Baylor All Saints... I will be relocating from California for this position and am anxious to see what this hospital is like. Im glad to read the positives you all have mentioned.

Specializes in ICU.

Please tell me what you think about the place ..... pay rate and so on..

Thank you,

I work at BASMC now - have for almost 3 years and love it. Don't get me wrong, we have issues, but if a nurse says their hospital or facility is great and has NO problems - they are lying or smokin' something the rest of us aren't. We are tight knit and care about each other. We are still keeping our nurse/patient ratios down as much as possible and the childcare facility is still great. Pay is pretty much in line with other DFW facilities - but our perks are great, too. I love the 5% matching retirement and the concierge service - I have used it a time or two. I also like our credit union - it's in Dallas, but has great rates and you can do direct deposit. Good luck and welcome!!:yeah:
