I got my acceptance call from Baylor in Houston yesterday!!! Anyone else get a call?

Please do not forget to call the other schools you were accepted to and tell them that you are not going. I know a few people who are on the alternate list at a few programs and would be so excited about going as well.....

People,

Now that you have been in for a little while, what can you tell us about the Baylor Program? I am strongly considering it (as they are the only school in Texas that takes ADN's).

What is their graduation rate? Has your class "lost" anyone yet (just a few months).

The program is more compressed time-wise than other schools. That tends to make things feel more difficult just because you are trying to learn so much information in a shorter time period. The faculty is great and for the most part are easy to get along with (you will have some anal-retentive people in any faculty). There is a strong presence in TANA from Baylor students and faculty. There are 14 in my class and we're all still kicking. They do typically lose one from each class, however rarely for academic purposes. actually all the schools in texas take adns, however, you must have a baccalaureate degree, usually either a bsn or a degree in a science related field.

baylor is a great school, with an impeccable reputation. you can't go wrong if you chose it.

are you sure on this? the ut program in houston specifically states you must be a bsn (i assume this is because their graduates earn an msn), while baylor specifically states you can be either (bsn or adn) as long as you have a bs in something.

i have a bs as well as an ms in pharmacology, and i'm currently a perfusionist, taking nursing school at nights/weekends. the only evening program for nursing around houston is hcc and their adn program.

i would love to apply to both schools, but i thought ut houston only took bsn's, also, i am leery as i have heard they loose quite a few of their students, and being in school full time would require me to loose my ccp license (if you don't do 40 cases a year, you loose it and have to retake the boards to get it back!).

both tcu and twu will take rn/adns with a bachelor's in a related science if all other prerequisites are met.
