So I had a VERY NEGATIVE initial contact with this college. Through just ONE conversation it's apparent that this school is a for-profit. After calling the school I was transferred to their Atlanta campus...The guy answered the phone "are you coming to a information session" which COMPLETELY through me off....no hello, thank you for calling Atlanta...blah blah etc.. it was INFO session info session. He continued to cut me off, avoid all questions. and even got SNAPPY with me. Their customer service is absolutely a turn off and I don't believe this school will be a top choice for me. smh some people do not need to be in customer service... I could NOT believe this guy. Take a PTO day if you don't want to work.
hello ,
Does anyone know if Bauder is working to get accrediated with NLNAC. I am excited for the program however, after look ing on job boards for RN positions most hospitals list: must be a graduate of an accrediated school of Nursing. That could b an issue to pay all the money for school and have a hard time finding a job! That scares me to death Answers anyone please
@deah I did not have either class complete
It is an accredited school of nursing. The Georgia Board of nursing would not allow the students to sit for the NCLEX if it was not. went on the Georgia Board of Nursing approed schools and Bauder is shown.
It is accredited by SACS which is the Southern Association of College and Schools. But it is not NLN (national league of nursing) accredited. They may be working on that accreditation but that is a good question to bring up at orientation if you are attending. Hope that helps :)
LuckyRN is correct, Bauder's Nursing Program is NOT accredited. GA Board of Nursing has only granted "Initial Approval" which approved/accepted Bauder's Nursing Program, this approval allows Bauder to accept students and which also allows Bauder NS to sit for the NCLEX. Bauder's Nursing Program is fully approved WHEN the first NCLEX attempts pass at 100% (all NS need to pass) LuckyRN, this greatly concerns me. This is why I have researched and asked these questions. This is how all programs begin. So, first class of June 2012....we are all counting on you :). The definite pro is we will be RNs, the con is if approval is not obtained, our credits may not transfer and jobs may be limited. Good Luck to all Bauder NS. my resourcses: Bauder, Kaplan reps, GA BON
Deah,
My letter was correct, but I actually found out before I got the letter through a phone call. I think the clerical staff is sometimes a bit overwhelmed and they send out alot of letters. They probably just copy & paste names & change programs on letters or something and it messes up some of them. If you quad log-in has the correct information that is all that counts.
Aren't you all having your orientation this week? We are all finished until Feb.1, but I'm sure we will all meet sooner or later :).
Oh, to all of you, make sure that you go by the library in your first week. The librarian is super nice & will show you all of the data bases that are available for us to use for research through Galileo online. I neglected to go to the library and didn't find out about all of the great things available to us until last week:(. We get free printing and copying in the library, as well, which saves us all alot of ink and paper:). (I was using Galileo through my daughter's Gainesville College account). The Galileo database is online & used by alot of colleges here in GA, and it contains a wealth of research options, including journals. They use it at Gainesville State College, UGA, and Gwinnett Tech, also. I didn't even know we had it at Bauder, but I wish I had known before last week. It comes in very handy when writing research papers. All of the library services are included in our tuition, so make sure to take advantage of it.
Plus, if you keep perfect attendance, you can enter drawings for a laptop at the end of every quarter. You just print off your attendance every week from your quad account & take it to Student Services. You get an entry for every week you have perfect attendance. Who couldn't use a free laptop, lol.
Good luck to all of you.
From my understanding about accreditation. There's two diff accred. One is the board of nursing, then they have the option of applying to nlnac (not the ccne which is for bsm and msn) most programs apply bc a lot of hospital req that, not all. But most jobs I read was a board certified nursing program so my guess is just the state board but I'm hoping bauder has that goal of being nlnac accred. Def will ask during orietation. That's how they can compete with the other programs.
Same thing I asked Mr. M and he said it will bc I also took pre-calc and inquired about that, along with 2 other classes, he researched and called me back and said they will transfer. Depending on where u took it also.Does anyone know if at bauder pre-calc can transfer in, in place of college algebra? Thanks guys.
