Barry University or Nova Southeastern University

Published

Hello everyone,

I just applied to Barry University for their traditional Nursing program starting in January 2011. I also want to apply to Nova. Those shool are my primary choices because of the scholarship they have with Baptist hospital. Has anyone been accepted to those schools and got the scholarship? How does it work besides you having to work for them for three years? What is it like having to take classes at Baptist hospital? When you graduate, do you get to pick where you want to work? ( I want to work in the ICU because I need the experience for CNRA school ). Also, Do they tell you if you got the scholarship before they save you a spot. I have a 3.5 GPA and by the end of this semester it will go to a 3.6 or higher, plus I plan to take a few classes in the summer. I want to be a CRNA someday so if anyone can tell me any information on the BSN program with Barry or Nova, it will be greatly appreciated. Sorry for so many questions.

Nova has a scholarship program with Baptist hospital. They pay your full tuition and you work for them for 3 years after graduation.

I'm referring to the scholarship with Baptist in general. Irrespective of going to NSU or Barry, I'm not certain I would want to be locked in like that.

I understand; however, with new grads not being able to find a job after graduation, I would take the offer in a heart beat. Anyway, good luck with whatever it is you choose to do.

I applied to barrys entry level program for Jan 2011, it been less than a month since I have applied and have already gotten accepted. Does anyone know how long it takes to find out whether I got accepted into the nursing program?

You should send them your transcript asap; then after like 2-3 weeks they will let you know.

thanks a lot for your help!

i just checked my mail and i got an acceptance letter from Barry but not for the entry level nursing , i got into the prenursing program. Im so confused I already have my AA.Why would they place me in the pre nursing?

They did the same thing to me. Accepted to the school but not to the nursing program. BTW even if you have a high GPA but have one W in science. They will deny you. That's what happened to me.

BARRY did not deny me they accepted mebut into the pre nursing program which is what I did not apply for. I applied for the entry level program the BSN program. I dont have any W's . Im supper confused I emailed the admissions counselour I was assigned to. I way to anxious!

First they accept you into the school. Acception to the school does not mean acceptance to the nursing program itself; however, if you have no repeats or "w"s then you should be fine. You will soon know if they accept you to the program.

thanks kristou , you have been a lot of help!
