Does anyone know if the intro to anesthesia course is mandatory? I'm planning on taking general chem at a local CC next semester but faculty told me they were going to make the course mandatory.

So I took a chemistry course before applying and kind of wish I didn't because I ended up taking Intro to Anesthesia anyway. They stipulated that I needed to take a grad-level chem course in my acceptance letter, to which the Intro course was also acceptable. However the CC course did help my GPA in case you were looking for that.

I honestly just had an interview with a different program this week so I don't remember the specific questions I just remember feeling relieved it wasnt rapid fire clinical questions

They require a chem course in the past 5 yrs to apply, but when they accept you they can have additional requirements.

Hi everyone, I'm going to take the transition to nurse anesthesia course. Can anyone tell me how the course is? Is it doable working full time? Is it a difficult class compared to possibly just taking a chem course online at another university? Also I'd appreciate if anyone who has MICU experience and interviewed have any tips for the interview. Just want to know if you lead the interview (meaning if you mention something if they ask questions about what you talk about) or if they randomly ask clinical questions such as "tell me about this disease" etc. Thanks everyone!

The Intro to Anesthesia course is very doable while working full time. It is self paced, so no pressure. I would take it over chemistry if you are planning to apply to Barry because it is geared towards many topics regarding anesthesia. If you want to boost your GPA, it will not affect that because no credits are given. So in that case, I would take a chem course.

Correction, it's a 3 credit course, but the credits aren't transferable to another university.

For those provisionally accepted- are all the program requirements not yet completed submitted through mybarry (GRE, PALS, etc)? and are all the requirements listed correctly for you? They told me I needed a chem class on my acceptance letter but I cannot find the letter in my email anymore and its not listed there as a requirement.

I have to take chem but it was in my acceptance letter because it was more than 5 years old.
