Didn't see anyone post here, so posting to open a discussion since the application cycle is coming up soon! Any one else applying for Summer of 2024?
Yeah should be fine depending on the strength of your application. As long as you show that you are going to take it. I think they will at least accept you application but maybe not look at it until it's more conplete. I didn't apply until August without completing my Orgo class and got in pretty smoothly so there is no rush.

Thank you for the response! Do you know if they accept courses from Portage? It's this online university that allows you take self-paced courses.

No they do not. I took Orgo at the University of New England online and it was self paced aswell, but it was kinda hard. There are other schools they accept you just have to email them to make sure.

The GRE is still a requirement. You might still get in if your Chemistry isn't sufficient for them. They can still grant you provisional acceptance if you are otherwise a strong candidate.

The GRE is no longer required starting this application cycle. It's only optional now! I reached out and was told it's optional, but if you received a higher score it can still help your application. However, if you got a lower score do not submit it as it can be used against your application as well!

Please don't be discouraged! During my interview, one of the Professors said NICU nurses do well in the program due to our attention to detail. If you have experience with vasoactive drips and invasive monitoring, that's what they're looking for. I have 10yrs of experience in a level 4 NICU w/ experience as charge, but you definitely don't need that many years. 3.7 GPA

Thank you for the encouragement; my GPA is definitely not as strong, so I'm going to try and take the GRE! Did you use anything specific to study for the CCRN and GRE?

All you need for the CCRN is the core review book from Elsevier. Do as many questions as possible and look at the rationale. I used Magoosh for the GRE.

Hey guys, I'm applying for the 2025 cohort. I was wondering if anyone applied without meeting the chemistry requirement and still received an interview or an acceptance. My science expired 6 years ago. I'd like to submit my application this month, but won't be able to enroll in a science course until the Summer. Do you still think they'll consider my application?
