Wanted to start thread because I have not come across a forum for the CRNA 2025 application deadline. Good luck to those applying!

Congrats 🎉. Has anyone started a Facebook group yet?

The interview was general interview questions.

Did you start one? If not, I will.

Congrats! Has anyone been accepted into Gainesville campus?

I did!

I know that it's been said that Barry doesn't accept Portage Learning credits, but on their website lists several accepted accreditation institutions, including the one that Portage is accredited by, Middle States Commission on Higher Education. Does anyone have any insight on this? I plan to go to the webinar later this month and ask if it's not addressed, but I wanted to check here in case someone has already asked and knows the answer. Thanks in advance!

Portage College coursework is not accepted, according to an email from [email protected]

They need a Chemistry course (B) not older than 5 years.  Submit a petition to your college to retake General Chemistry I or II and include the Barry University requirement with your Petition to retake Chem.

Transition to Anesthesiology does not cover this requirement and is up to you if you want to take it.

Need to have CCRN, ACLS, BLS, RN, 2 recommendations, BSN, and 1 year of ICU.  GRE is optional.

I understand all the requirements and I have all of these things. Thank you for the information.

When was this email sent out from Barry? I'm wondering if things have changed. They did not have the specific accreditations listed on the website previously if I remember correctly.

The email from Barry University was on 3-20-23 on not accepting Portage College coursework.

On April 29th 2024 they said that the GRE test is optional and that we suggest if you take the GRE that your score is in the 40th percentile in each section.

They said that we do not have a specific requirement for the shadowing hours.  I have not been able to find a CCRN to shadow.

They will not interview until CCRN is on file.

Good news!

Today they responded to my email saying "We will accept Portage credits.”

Hello everyone!!

I wanted to see of anyone here lives in Florida and has any insight on Barry U vs FIU? They both seem like great schools based on my research so I'm trying to get insight if anyone has heard better things about one opposed to the other?

Congrats to everyone on interviews and acceptances!

Thanks!

I have not heard which is better..  I have heard FIU is pretty competitive. I know they all are though haha. I personally believe you should just apply to as many schools as possible!

Has anyone received a call for an interview recently, like within the last two weeks? I spoke with admin at Barry and they said I should hear something within two weeks and it's been three.. ☹️

I submitted it on June 19th, NursingCAS verified it two weeks later, on July 2nd, and I have not received a call.  I did not submit a GRE score and have no CRNA shadowing hours since I have not been able to find anyone in Gainesville or nearby.

Hey everyone! I had no idea Barry interviewed and accepted on a rolling basis, thats amazing! I have all the requirements and have previously taken their anesthesia prep class last Summer.... think its too late to apply?
