Hello all! I just thought I would start a thread for those of us applying. I have started my application and I am working on my personal statement now. How are you all doing?
I have taken the GRE and passed my CCRN. I still need to get my PALS. I also need to ask for my letters of recommendation and send in my school transcripts & GRE scores. I'm going to try to apply for the Tampa campus.
Update: I called today. There are approx 40-45 seats for the entire program left. They are behind in interviews. If you get called or contacted for an interview, there is a 2-3 week wait till then. This can last until September as they await for students on the waiting list who have requirements to complete or seats to fill by students who decline or give up their seat. Hope this helps!!
Hi. If it helps, I submitted my application in August of last year, and I was just a couple of weeks ago informed that I have my interview on June 30th. I am wondering what the critical care assessment test at the end of the interview is like. I've read this entire thread, and I know that several people have stated that the interview was laid back, but I am somewhat anxious about the test itself. Any help in preparing for this part of the interview would be much appreciated. Thanks.

The test is a basic overview of critical care nursing and chemistry. I'm sure I bombed the chemistry part. It really has no weight on your admission.
The test will be administered before the interview. It consists of half "CCRN" type questions, and half basic (i think some organic) chemistry questions. They say that it has absolutely no bearing on your admission, so take that however you want. If you have recently taken your CCRN, you will do just fine on those questions. The chem questions, there is no great way to prepare for that. A recent chemistry course will help for sure, but I wouldn't stress it too much.
And yeah, the interview is super laid back. I stressed about it a lot, studied all sorts of potential questions, had professional coaching and everything. Then the only questions they really asked me was how i was gonna pay for the program, haha. Don't stress it, just be yourself and bring your ICU knowledge and shadow experience and you'll do just fine.
Great advice! I am not yet attending, but everyone I spoke with said go as soon as possible. There was not one person who recommended more ICU experience. As someone previously stated you are not going to school to become a better ICU nurse. Also as it's obvious the more challenging aspect of being SRNA is time management and balancing the school work. Best wishes to everyone and thanks so much for everyone's input.
