Barry CRNA starting spring 2015

Nursing Students SRNA

Anyone preparing for Barry starting in jan 2015?? I'm taking a chem now and preparing for the GRE. And for those that have already been accepted, any advice?? What do you think of the program??

Has anyone else applied to this cohort?

Specializes in Cardiac nursing.

I am applying today. I will send all of my application later this morning. I just finished taking the GRE. That test was something else. I was totally wiped out from the test. Anyhow, good luck to all of us who are applying. I am hoping to get into Tampa because i live near Brandon, Fl. I read that they only take 6 people every year in Tampa, so I am really praying hard to earn a spot in Tampa.

I'll be applying soon. I just passed the CCRN last week. 3 years of ICU (mostly surgical/trauma). Taking the GRE next week. Fingers crossed. If it doesn't go so well I'll re-register and take it late February. I currently live in Utah, never been to Florida, so that'll be a culture/climate change for sure if I get in, haha.

I'm not sure what area I'll apply to. I really don't care as long as I get in. My wife and I were thinking about Ocala, just because it looks like it gets the least amount of hurricane weather and the cost of living seems a little lower. Is that true?

I'm finishing up my BSN but the folks at Barry said I could apply while I am finishing it.

I'm so excited to finally be at the point where I can apply to anesthesia school! Florida would be a nice change from all of the relatively cold places that I've lived (North Dakota, Utah), and I'd love to be nearer to an ocean. Plus, I really like the fact that Barry gives you so much clinical experience.

Good luck to you all. By the way, the secretary on the phone said to apply early. How early is early?

Love your avatar. R.I.P., Breaking Bad.

I think now would be early. The deadline is may I think. Anyone who has applied heard from Barry? Interviews or at least an email? I still have to write the understanding of the role of the CRNA. What did everyone write for that?

Got an interview! Anyone else yet? Anyone interviewed from this cohort yet?

I just applied...how did you send in references. I didn't see an option when I did my application. Perhaps I missed it?

The letter of recommendation form is actually on the College of Health Sciences website, which you can find here. Or here (College of Health Sciences : Barry University, Miami Shores, Florida) if the link doesn't work.

Good luck to all of those who have interviews. I just submitted my app a few days ago, and my LOR's are being sent out this week. I have an app in two other schools too (Gannon/Hamot, Western Carolina). This waiting period is going to be a challenge, for sure.

Thanks a lot! For some reason I thought it would be an electronic recommendation form.

Also, people are asking about what site they are applying for. I didn't see any place to specify a site preference. How do we just say, "I'll go wherever there's an opening?"
