Seriously, anyone know anyone that has actually gone through the program? I want to know the basics and if the scholarship is truly worth it, or if other options are available should I take those.

alcolo02,

I am going to the davie campus for my first semester. I got the call early friday morning as well. I wonder how things are going to work out, like if we will be attending our classes at the kendall campus or at the hospital our second semester. You remember seeing those classrooms where our interviews were right? That's where I think our classes might be if they will be in the hospital. I'm so excited to begin classes either way! :D When are you going to sign your contract?

Those classrooms are for the MDC students. Nova has their own campus with their own instructors. I thought that if you took the scholarship, you went there from the beginning? I'm so lost. I have not been registered in classes yet, I have not heard from Nova, I've been accepted into the scholars program but not completely sure I am going to take it. I need advice!

Hey everyone! I just sumbitted the Baptist Scholars Program Apllication etc. I am kinda nervous! Does anyone know if they prepare you well enough at Baptist for the NECLEX? How long is the program at Baptist? Is the length of the program the same length as the program/courses taken at the NOVA, BARRY, MDC campuses? How much do they pay the new grad nurses at baptist when they complete the program with the scholarship? Has anything changed in the interview process? HELP! Thanks so much!

Hi, I also received a good news phone call. I'll be in the Barry scholars program. Which school did you get into? Also, any idea how soon we get class schedules, etc. we are cutting it close for a planner like me. I currently work for Baptist & I need to let my boss know if I won't be working anymore..... Congrats btw!

I'm going to Barry's program as well. I have no clue about the time frame as I am an OCD planner as well. All she told me (as I'm sure she told you) was I'll be receiving a letter soon telling me when to come in and sign my contract. Barry and Baptist both cut it close this year because I just registered for my classes for main campus and my background check is not complete. I tried to call Terri Navarro at Barry to see if I still have to go to the orientation at main campus on the 23rd. Also if I have to go to the renewal CPR course since I'm sure Baptist has other requirements. So many questions that I'm sure will be answered soon. Congratulations!

Thanks! So, what I know so far is that we still have orientation on the 23rd, not sure if it is at Barry or at Baptist main. I know all the requirements are the same, still have to take the EAT, background, drug test, etc. They said they sent out packets on friday, so we should be getting it soon. I live in Miami so I was actually hoping it might come today. I also received a call that contract signing would be on the 15th of August. I'm not sure if they do everyone at once or if that was just an appointment time that they scheduled for me. Is 86 your birth year? That would make you 28? Are you from Miami? Hope this info helps, you may already have it. Oh, and the CPR I'm not sure about because my last CPR renewal was with Baptist, but I think they just want everyone to renew at the same time so that they don't run into an issue with keeping track of sporadic renewals throughout the year. Anyway, we'll find out soon enough I suppose!
