Baptist Hospital Scholars Program - Miami
Thanks! So, what I know so far is that we still have orientation on the 23rd, not sure if it is at Barry or at Baptist main. I know all the requirements are the same, still have to take the EAT, background, drug test, etc. They said they sent out packets on friday, so we should be getting it soon. I live in Miami so I was actually hoping it might come today. I also received a call that contract signing would be on the 15th of August. I'm not sure if they do everyone at once or if that was just an appointment time that they scheduled for me. Is 86 your birth year? That would make you 28? Are you from Miami? Hope this info helps, you may already have it. Oh, and the CPR I'm not sure about because my last CPR renewal was with Baptist, but I think they just want everyone to renew at the same time so that they don't run into an issue with keeping track of sporadic renewals throughout the year. Anyway, we'll find out soon enough I suppose! -Sarah

Hi, I also received a good news phone call. I'll be in the Barry scholars program. Which school did you get into? Also, any idea how soon we get class schedules, etc. we are cutting it close for a planner like me. I currently work for Baptist & I need to let my boss know if I won't be working anymore..... Congrats btw!

Barry or Nova?
hi all, i've recently been accepted to both barry university and nova southeastern university entry level nursing programs. i'm having a difficult time with my decision on which to choose and i have very limited time (about a week). both have pros and cons. i'm currently a baptist health south florida employee and i plan on applying for the baptist scholarship which pays for some or all of tuition contingent on a 3 year commitment to baptist. for nova, tuition is paid in full by the scholarship. for barry, $20,000 is paid and $30,000 i'd be responsible for. i know what you're thinking.... it's a no-brainer right? wrong. barry is only 15 months and i would receive a bsn. nova is 27 months a full year longer. this means one more year of taking out loans for living expenses, one more year of driving back and forth to classes, one more year or not earning an rn's salary.... if anyone has any kind of advice to give i'd love to hear it! barry?:uhoh21:nova? thanks!
