I have friends that work for the banner system and really love it! I'm sure you'll have a great time too... Glendale is pretty good sized and there's a nice big mall there, plus... I know the season's over, but it's fun to go to the diamondback baseball games. There's also a lot of concerts and such that come through, I like to go to the smaller shows, bands are still good, just cheaper to get in and a LOT of fun!
Hope you have a great time in PHX!
The Coyotes (hockey) are here and even the cheap seats are good at the arena. Glendale has the antiques, which I have yet to find and explore and
also has theatre/concert halls. For the most part it is easy to get around here as long as you avoid the rush hour. The Chinese cultural center has several good resteraunts and shopping. I find great buys on books at the Biltmore shopping center on Camelback and 24th. I'll be here until mid-March.
Have Fun!
Glendale, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and other cities all run together giving one a wide choice of activities. I worked at Thunderbird Sam. a few years back and loved the area. As I sat in my hot tub in Jan. and looked up at the snow caped mountains, it was beautiful. There are many mountain trails to walk up and enjoy or car ride up for a breath taking view of the cities below. Don't forget the basketball games in the winter months also! Many churches offer various activities and welcome visitors and new people. As you can tell I love AZ. and will go back when I get through the last semester of nursing school. Sedona is a beautiful area with the red clay rocks and soil. Flagstaff offers snow activities and beautiful pine trees. You won't be that far from Mexico for a quick weekend trip down there or Tempe. OK. I really miss the climate too!!!
I want to travel this summer. I have already gone to Montana and loved it. But this time my son is coming with me. He is 15 and wants to go where the skateboarders hang out. Any suggestions?
I don't know about skate boarding, but there are alot of four wheelers here as well as drag car racing. At least that is what I have noticed for the four days that I have been here. I love az so far, but have not really met any people to hang out with yet. I live near bell and 67th. write me back so I can find some peeps to hang with:rotfl:
