Is anyone not satisfied with choosing Baker in CT for there nursing degree? If so... why and where did you end up going?
I would appreciate any feedback
Thanks
My sister is taking Comp 1 this term. She said that the material isn't the same as when I took the class in Summer 2007. Ours was all about Literature.Anyway, I found the first week overwhelming, but it is like "eating an elephant". Just focus on what you have to accomplish each week. I found that the most helpful.
Comp I is reading stories and writing papers on it. Comp II is learning how to write papers, then writing papers on a topic. Which makes no sense to me because you would think it would be the other way around, shouldn't you know the right way to do it first? I had no idea how to us MLA for comp I, and then hit Comp II and had to learn again using APA, uh yeah.
We wrote 3 papers and then one research paper. I can see why it was important. It gives you experience of finding some commonality in the paper and then being able to express your point of view, with references from the text to back up your opinion. They are basically already giving you one resource to work with. When people first start out writing it is difficult to find a balance of your opinion/enough resources. Most papers I peer reviewed looked like book reports, and the other half was a personal experience piece.
When you get to two, you use your opinion and then have to find references to back up your opinion, and I think that is a little harder.
I tend to like MLA style better because it lends itself to being a story more, and less like a medical journal like APA. LOL
I actually like writing and it was really hard for me to take those two classes! Oh and speech. HAHAHA! I think I did just as much writing and more research!

Thanks Gemberly!
I think I'll drop it since it should be early enough and take it next semester
