I personally like the Streamlight MicroStream Streamlight 66318 MicroStream C4 LED Pen Flashlight - Basic Handheld Flashlights - Amazon.com
I just clipped it to a key ring that I attached to my badge.
The light is extremely bright so do not use it to check pupils without attenuating the light, I used to partially cover the flashlight with my fingers. I like a bright flashlight so I can use it for more than just checking pupils like checking out vasculature, looking for sharps etc.

Amazon.com: NiteCore Tube Tiny Keychain USB Rechargeable 45 lm LED Flashlight, Blue: Home Improvement
The Nitecore Tube. I have one hanging from my lanyard right now.
That's not too bright for checking pupils?
Use clinical judgement to attenuate the light as needed. I would personally not recommend directly shining any light of any lumen or candela strength without assessing the situation and attenuating the light as needed.
The Nitecore Tube mentioned above has a low, a high and a variable setting from 1 to 45 lumens depending on how long you press the button.
