one of the references i listed cost me a job offer today saying that when i did my preceptorship i couldn't handle things by myself and that i couldnt learn fast enough etc. i dont know what to do now, now im back to square one, and the woman pretty much was taking back the offer. any suggestions would help
yes my lawyer did send a cease & desist letter, with orders to contact every place that they gave me a bad reference to, admit it was wrong, and a demand for proof of this, otherwise, there would be further legal action on my part, it should never have happened to begin with, 21 years of good nursing and a good rep.
and the new don has something personal against me, and i'm thrown under the bus, backstabbers in nursng are so hard to deal with
i was recently fired from my job on a thursday and found a great job the friday only to get a phone call the monday stating the previous DON stated there was an ongoing investigation when there really isn't. Now i'm back at square one and the holidays along with monthly bills are rolling in. My feelings were crushed to know that a person with a higher title than mines would react so unprofessionally.

Your attorney can write a cease and desist letter to the person or the employer that is screwing you over. That might work, then again it might not. But at least make the effort to put a thorn in her side.
