Bad news on NC 6

Published

Ok, so I haven't been around the past few days because I decided to get a D on NC 6 last Friday! I believe a few factors played into me doing poorly - #1 Killer headache #2 My husband sustained an injury the weekend before that put me on an emotional roller coaster ride for a few days. I did ok on the practice exams and felt very confident about the material. In fact, I felt so good taking the exam, I decided not to double check my questions.

When the D popped up, I was blown away! I bombed musculoskeletal with a 37% which is what caused me to fail. It makes no sense to me! I truly felt I was doing great on the entire exam (despite my headache). It's been a terrible blow to my self esteem since I haven't failed a test since high school. I think I bit off more than I could chew - scheduling a lot of exams pretty closer together! Since I return to work in two weeks, I'm going to focus on NC 5 (but probably plan on 3-4 weeks to study for it as opposed to two!).

I was wondering what NCLEX books people utilize with Excelsior's program? Are any of them better than the other?

Sorry to hear about NC6. But it only measures your ability to take that one test. So jump back in as soon as you can afford the fee and you will ace the NC6!!!
