Hello everyone.
I have been reading in many threads how so many people are struggling to find finances to help pay for nursing school. I have also read how many people have credit probelms that are preventing them from geting loans.
I thought we should start a thread and all share any info we get to help others. I will start.
Here is the website: http://www.creditboards.com
I used the information I got here to DRASTICALLY inprove my credit in just a few months. Believe me I had TERRIBLE credit, even with all my years as a broker. I was able to clean it up and qualify for thousands in no- collateral private loans to go to school. There are people who have used the info to clean up there credit and qualified for loans for med school and other programs.
If you have bad credit that site will change your life. It is as great a site as this one. Nothing is for sale.
I also found this thread here in the CRNA forum and I thought the information here was outstanding:

I have also been looking for scholarships and found this one:

I hope this will help you all. It certainly helped me!

I have Stafford loans as do many other people. They are not based on credit. Fill out your FAFSA. You'll receive a SAR report that will tell you how much your contribution to your education should be. Then you'll receive a letter telling you if you qualify for any aid (grants/loans). My school sent a letter saying I didn't qualify for grants but to go to
http://www.laureate.salliemae.gov (or org or com) to apply for a Stafford Loan. I only had to apply the first year. After that, it was just a matter of renewing my FAFSA and submitting a loan renewal form to my school. Of course, you can't get as much as a credit based loan but I'm taking the max my school will allow while I'm in nursing school, especially since I won't be working full time. Every little bit helps.

You dont have to have a credit check to get Stafford loans, they are guarenteed by the government. My husband and I both have these and our credit is so bad we cant even get a library card.

I'm sorry for laughing but that is just TOO FUNNY!!!!
:rotfl: Behave! lol. A library card!
Thanks for posting I hope the info will help others.
There are a few folks on here who say they have maxed out on Stafford loan getting their first degree so the info I posted may be able to help them get private loans.
