Bacone College

Published

I'm just curious here, has anyone attended Bacone College in Muskogee? I need to get more info on it, but I believe it has an RN program. Anyone know about this school? What is it like, pluses and minuses, etc? All I know is that it's in Muskogee, and from where I live in Broken Arrow, I could drive that if I don't get into TCC. Right now I'm saving up for nursing school because I don't want to take out any more loans. It'll be cheaper in the long run... it may take a little while, but I REALLY want to do this. If anyone knows anything about Bacone, I'd appreciate it! :) Kat

It is comforting for me to see that others have done the same types of research I have done trying to get into the right nursing program for them as soon as they can. I started my pursuit of nursing Mar 05 and I studied paths to take relentlessly (okay, one might say obsessively). Finally the TTC / TCC 1+1 program opened up for me, determining my path.

Good luck BabyRN2Be.

I had a huge file that I'd created on all the programs around. When I would talk to friends and family I would try to explain to them the differences with each program, until I realized that nobody else cared! I too started this all last spring and started my prereqs last summer (I already had most of my gen eds.) When I was doing my CNA at tech last fall my instructors were both practical nursing instructors and told me about their program and it opened up to me this spring. I don't think most people realize how much planning and stress goes into trying to get into these programs! When I tell people how my life is going to be for the next few years (with going on for RN/BSN) they look at me like I'm crazy! Last week I was cleaning my desk area and found my whole file on nursing programs and I threw everything away except TCC, TTC, and OU. That felt so good!

You'll find a way to do this BabyRN2Be!

Lana, I also forgot to mention...

(although I don't like it that you need to take A&P from them and no one else :uhoh3:).

We will see what happens though...

I am a second year nursing student at RSU and I did not take A&P at Rogers... Is that something new??

I don't know. We had a rep from Rogers come talk to our LPN class and she told us that. I'd also heard that from a student trying to get in to Rogers. Hmmm...?
