Went to Oklahoma this weekend to celebrate an early Christmas with my family. My 2 year old daughter, who has embraced this whole "Christmas thing", got to see her first snow. She looked out the window, called it "messy", and told Grandma that we needed to vacuum the yard!
Anyway...I got my "fix" by seeing a B.C.Clark commerical. Ahhh, the memories of growing up in small, southwestern Oklahoma. I realize can hear the jingle anytime on the Internet, but there's just something about the commerical ending and Linda Cavanaugh or Gary England coming on next!
I sincerely hope everyone is having a blessed holiday season!
And don't forget to cheer for OU in the Fiesta Bowl!

I grew up in Southeastern Oklahoma and there is NOTHING like a Oklahoma Christmas...sigh....I spent mine in Florida, in shorts, sweating in the 80 degree heat, DESPERATELY missing the 30 degree, icicles on my nose, heavy coat wearing, snow/ice storm, "messy front yard", hot chocolate, Oklahoma Christmas.......sigh.....
Glad you go to go home for the holidays!!!!!

I think a real Oklahoma Christmas is 55 degrees with the sun shinin'.
Yep, shorts & sweatshirt, 55 degrees melting the 3/4" snow & ice that fell the night before.
Didn't Will Rogers say that if you didn't like the weather in OK, just wait a few minutes?
It is 36 degrees here in Florida this morning!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY. I ran outside in my sweatshirt, shorts and tennis shoes....my neighbors must think I am Whacko, LOL. I stood outside til my skin was red and my nose was numb and ran back in and made hot cocoa!!! WOOOHOOO. If it weren't for the palm trees and the ocean in my back yard I would think I was back in Oklahoma.....
Here I go resuscitating this thread...
Spent last weekend in OK. Dropped the toddler off with g-parents in the Lawton area and headed to OKC for an overnight "date". We stayed in Moore and went to the new Warren Theater. Oh my!! Has anyone seen that thing? (And Texans think they've got the market cornered on "BIG"...)
And another thing...what's the new "Healthplex" that Norman Regional is building on the west side of I-35? Goodness...it looks huge, too!
Luv my Sooner State!
