2014/2015 Bachelors degree only?

Published

I was talking with a student at the university today, and she was mentioning how UNLV tuition is very high now for Nursing. I don't know, as I haven't done the research, but I asked her why she didn't consider going to CSN to get an Associates degree.

Some people in the group mentioned that in 2014/2015 Bachelors degree is going to be preferred in healthcare setting?

I dont' know about that one, but please discuss so I can learn more :lol2:

Lots of hospitals are already hiring only (or mostly) BSN-prepared nurses, so I don't know where the "2014/2015" part is coming from. However, there is a lot of variation around the country. In general, it seems that urban areas which have a large pool of nursing applicants from which to choose, are more picky because they can afford to be, and less populated or desirable parts of the country, where there aren't as many nurses hanging around looking for jobs, care more about the license than the degree that got you there. :)

Most Vegas hospitals hire CSN Nurse graduates because they have excellent bedside skills.
