B.S. Degree do I need it?

Hello,

I recently decided that I want a B.S.N. Degree and I have registered for a few classes I need for a nursing program in Colorado. I have a B.S. Degree in Exercise Science and I found a great program that will take most of my credit hours from my previous degree. My question is if I already have a B.S. Degree should I worry about getting the B.S.N. or would I be OK applying to a community college program with the R.N. option? I would have a 4 year degree and a A.S. degree in Nursing if I decided not to go into the B.S.N. Program.

BA+ ADN does not equal a BSN. Many employers are looking for BSNs these days.

Specializes in L&D.

Thank you! I want a B.S.N but with the cost of education I am always looking for a way to save a little money. I will have 2 degrees and will become a R.N. hopefully over the next 1.5 - 2 years. I am getting my CNA and will be able to work for about 6 months before the program starts. I think that will be a great opportunity and will help me get some experience.

I will get the B.S.N. I have a few classes missing from the prerequisites for the program so I am taking those now and will start the B.S.N. program if I am accepted starting summer 2015.
