Hi! I just turned in my application for the APU ELM summer 2014 cycle. I don't think my stats are very good, so I'm a little worried. I have a 3.2 GPA from UCSD as a human bio major, 3.6 pre-req GPA, EMT for 1 year, and president of a volunteer organization. If anyone has similar stats and got in, it'd make me feel a lot better about my chances =)
@yanyan88 Isn't your science gpa above 3.0 if you have all A's except 2 C's? The adviser just discussed my GPA, went over the program, and asked me a few questions. She also did not have time to give me the tour because she had another appointment with another applicant, but she did ask one of the workers there to give me a tour.
@hchumbar Overall gpa, prerequisite gpa, healthcare experience, military, faith based community service, degree in a biological science, volunteer experience, volunteer experience outside the country, attending the pre-advising interview. That's all I remember on the list, but there was more. She said a score of 31 pts is competitive. I think I got a 33 or 35, I forget. The total possible was around 45.
Guys!! I received an email today from apu!!!!! "We wanted to let you know that we have updated your APU Network Account to reflect your GRADUATE STUDENT affiliation with APU" has anyone else received this email? It does not say I'm in the nursing school so I am confused but excited and anxious!!!!
I received the same email too. I'm not sure whether it's a good news or just a normal procedure. Given that are supposed to have made their final decisions yesterday I'm not sure what to think about it as i don't want to have false hopes. It would be great if a former applicant could confirm how it has penned for previous rounds

Hello yanyan88 welcome to this thread!
It's true that the way Azusa conducts interviews is a little unique. Indeed, unlike most schools who only interview a pool of applicants they are seriously considering to narrow down their decision, Azusa calls in pretty much every applicant. Rather than being a first step towards being accepted these interviews serve more as "advising" sessions, just a way to introduce the program to applicants. They base their selection, at least partially, on a point-based system so I wouldn't worry too much about an impression which can be subjective. We are now very close to final decisions, good luck to you!
