Updated:   Published

Hello everyone,

I am starting this for anyone that is applying Spring 2024 for APU nursing program. Deadline is October 1, 2023. You can post your experience applying, questions about the application and if you get accepted into the nursing program.

Congratsss everyone ! Majority of the professors are really nice at Monrovia. Don't let first semester overwhelm you or make you feel like you can't do it, everyone feels the same way, take your time to get to know your own study habits. As challenging as the program was it was also totally doable, APU is really not as bad as some of the other nursing programs.

Thank you so much for your encouragement! May I ask what did your schedule look like the first few semesters?  Trying to see if I immediately need to quit my job.

It's always gonna be 2-3 days a week plus clinicals it's not everyday but they do make a lot of last minute changes I know some of my classmates had a hard time with that, sometimes it's not up to the school, hospitals change things for the clinicals last minute

Do clinicals start right away?

You start clinicians from first semester unless they changed something for your cohort, I think 2 or 3wks in not right the first week, they also have virtual clinical learning cases you do online, the most skills labs will be first semester after that it gets shorter only few times a semester. Simulation lab every semester

Thank you so much this is very helpful. The other programs I applied for will let us know their decision the week APU starts so I am really considering starting or not.

Anyone moving forward with the program? Did you receive the email?

Yeah and apu takes forever to let you know that you were denied. It's very unfortunate.

I'm confused on the deposits being due on the 15th but they say they notify us 8-10 weeks after the deadline. There's a few weeks in between the two. I'm hopeful there is still some time for those of us who haven't heard back yet!
