Hi all,

has anyone submitted their application? Super nervous ! I applied for SD campus

Hi! I also applied to the SD campus and I recently completed my application. Best of luck to you!

Specializes in n/a.

Hello all, I am currently applying to the SD Campus ELM program! Pretty excited and nervous! We got this!

Specializes in EMT.

Are you guys in touch with an academic advisor or are you just swinging it and just applying. Do you guys have any past medical experience? I am an EMT but I don't know if that would help with my application

Hello. Anyone applying to the Inland Empire program ?

I have been in touch with an academic advisor just because I had a couple questions! I have been an EMT for about 5 years now. I think it definitely looks great to see that on your application as it shows you have medical experience

Nice, I've been trying to gather insight from previous people that have applied and so far its very random. The last person that I spoke to had 3.0 GPA and no medical experience and still got in. She said they look into your personal statement very seriously.

Thanks for sharing that! Hopefully by the end of this month we'll know if we've been chosen for an interview. Has anyone applied to this program previously or have any insight on the interview?

I think they will start sending out email or calls within 8 weeks of deadline. I think thats what I read online.

Hello, I applied last cycle and unfortunately didn't make it that time. I did the interview online which I think for me wasn't the best because I have a hard time keeping eye contact with the camera but make sure you study up on what this school, how you are preparing to be the most successful student possible, what your plans are with this career and how your past experience has made you prepared for this.

Oh, I didn't know you had the option to do it online. Thats actually pretty cool.
Did they tell you what you could have improved for this time around? Or do you think it was just the the questions and answers. I read on another thread they ask the basic question like: describe yourself, what would you do in this type of scenario, why are you chasing asuza,  and so forth and if you are willing to stop working to be in the program.

He and no. They do ask those basic questions but they also delve pretty deep into what you wrote in your essay and question why you said some of the things you said. For example I said that I would like to work in the NICU after the first portion of the program and they asked why I want to work in the NICU and how this would benefit me since NPs can't work in the NICU. Which fun fact the other day I was looking at job openings at Rady children's hospital SD and actually saw an open position for a NP in NICU. But anyways, another question they asked is how you would handle conflict with others since we will all be together in the same cohort for so long, what are the advantages and disadvantages of that. That's all I can remember right now. I asked multiple people at APU if they could give me a reason as to why I was not chosen or what I could improve on for next time and they said that they do not disclose that information so unfortunately I am not exactly sure what I wasn't up to par on but if they liked my application enough to interview me then I have a feeling that it was because of the interview. I am definitely more of an introvert so this time around I am going to go in with much more confidence and try to be more outgoing and focus on maintaining good eye contact.
