Hello,
Moved to the area last week and working at tbird on the telemetry unit. Everything seems cool with the hospital, I just finished orientation on friday and on monday I will be out on the floor. Exciting. Just haven't meet any cool people to hang with yet. Glendale seems very open and laid back, so should be ok.

Hi, I was wondering what you meant when you said you havent met any cool people yet? I am possibly going to take a position at Thinderbird and do not know anyone in the area, so basically, my concern is that is the people are cool, then how are they to work with? And have you met any people outside of work? And if you can PM me, any chance you call tell me where you live, is it a safe area? What apartment complexes would you recommend?
don't worry about what I said, I am a traveler, so it takes me a while to set up a network of friends and such. When I wrote that message, i had just moved, but I have meet quite a few people at work that are nice and I am nice, so that kinda works out. If you move here, I would be more than happy to hang out with you. I travel with my fiance and am happy with the area I am in. I haven't gotten down to pheonix yet, but glendale area is packed with stuff to do, many malls, restaurants, some taverns and a view of some mountains. I am only 2 hours from flagstaff, az, which is the home of the grand canyon, very beautiful. and 2 hours from tucson. I like to hike and listen to jazz music in clubs, so that is what i try to find here. There are many apartments in the area that look very nice.
What is your e-mail so I can tell you about apartments

Welcome to Arizona! I'm a native, but I married a Cheesehead.
I hate to tell you this but... the Grand Canyon is more than 2 hours away. It's a LONG drive to a really big hole in the ground. If you are thinking of going, and you should, look into the railroad. http://www.thetrain.com/
oh, and here's another link for you - http://www.jazzinaz.org/
and in Glendale: http://www.historic-glendale.net/glendale_gaslight_inn.htm
have fun at Thunderbird. I did many of my clinicals there and really enjoyed it. The people were wonderful to work with.
enjoy!

Hi Sweetpea,
My dad moved to Glendale this last March, from Chicago. My brother moved to Pheonix a couple of years ago.
I am thinking of going south also, (as soon as I graduate my program, hopefully June of 2007). I posted on the Texas forum today hoping to see what I can find in Southwestern TX. Nice to read you,

Hi from me,
Yeah, my dad said it was about a 5+ hour car ride. The train is a good idea!
