Hi,
What are the easiest/fastest ADN programs to get into in California? I'm still interested in BSN, MEPN, ABSN ect programs, however, the RN to BSN is another route available.
My local community college, Butte College, can be a 3 year wait for a lottery, although it is not merit-based. I know community college ADN programs in California can either be lottery or merit-based, or even both (like one I saw in Sacramento).
Here is the list of ADN programs in Cali:

I'm in Northern California, by Chico, so I would prefer community colleges up here or nearby. For most programs, I have all of the pre-reqs completed. I have a 3.8 GPA cumulative, around 3.6/3.7 science pre-req, 83% TEAS cumulative and around 90%+ on the English and Math portions of HESI (bad in science areas).
Thanks for any help!

Kaplan college, you get in instantly but it costs A LOT more than community colleges. But it's worth it for people like me who can't wait.

I was reading the other day that Santa Barbara City College isn't accepting any more applications until 2016 if I'm not mistaken and their waiting list is 5 years ..
It's best to do some research and apply to as many adn programs at colleges near you ..

A representative came from Bakersfield College to talk to some of the prenursing students applying for the BSN program at my university about the ADN option.
BC is a lottery, but their requirements are pretty easy. If you don't get in the first time, you get priority the second time (though it is totally possible to not make it a second time either). She said that usually you'll make it the second time though, and she supposedly only knows of "1 or 2" people whobdidn't make it by the third time they applies. Although that could have just been a talking point to persuade people to go to BC over a 4 year program.
I believe they accept applications twice a year (Fa/Sp), but I could be wrong about that.
I'm not really interesred in the ADN route right now myself, so I don't know anything more specific than what I posted. Might be worth looking into?

I don't know how to feel about this system. One counselor I talked to said that it is 100% a lottery when I asked them if they were bsing or not with the lottery system claim. Another counselor I asked said that it's not purely a lottery system. I really don't want to get stuck applying over and over and over again and not get accepted because I'm not lucky enough to get picked. On the other hand I don't want to take out huge loans to go straight to a bachelors program lol. Is is true that you get priority if you apply again?
