Another factor to consider, are you a new grad? New grad, or RN I positions are not only hard to come by they are generally paid less. Huge difference between northern and southern CA as well, southern CA pays less generally. I have seen hourly wages for $28-44/hour in northern CA and starting around mid 20's/hour for southern CA. That is just what I have seen
No, not a new grad, I have over 2 yrs experience. Right I'm aware of the difference between so. cal and the bay, I'm specifically asking for the Inland Valley; my home town in Murrieta, and I'm looking to move back with my parents to save some money. Im talking to a recruiter from a travel company; just doing my research so I don't get low-balled, like they usually do up front. I cant work in LA or San Diego, that would be WAY too big of a commute, just Murrieta/Temecula.

I am finally relocating back home for awhile after living on the East Coast since I became a RN! I am moving from NYC, so I'm trying to figure out my budget; how much money I'll save, etc. I was wondering if anyone knew the average salary for this area? I know in California it can vary greatly. I tried researching online but I'm not sure how accurate it is, I've seen anywhere from $45K to $77. I was also wondering if anyone had the average per diem rate at well?
To break the ice, here in NYC it's around $80K, with base rate usually being anywhere from $76-79K depending on hospital, but 80 after you factor in BSN differential, etc.
Don't worry, not asking for personal salaries, just average. Thanks so much!
