Published

Hello, I thought I would start a thread for anyone that applied to AVC Rn program for spring 2020. I did and I’m trying to patiently wait.

During orientation we got a list of the books we needed for all semesters of the program. So I didn't buy my books until after orientation. Also, I'd get the manual printed and binded. Better than carrying around so many loose leaf pages. ?

We already got the book list needed for all semesters. I was just hoping to find out what we just needed for the first semester and if the instructor would say what books she would be using just for that semester! ? Buying all 9 books at once is breaking the bank hahaha. Didn't realize how expensive it would be starting up!

I mean you kind of do need most of them LOL the ones I bought were the Taylor one, drug guide, gulanick, karch, the Hoffman one, and the Williams one I bought until later, but I didn't read from that one because I never got around to it. Aside from those, I got the study guide that goes with the Taylor book, which is not included on the list.

Thanks so much for your quick response. Am nervous as well. Do not know what to focus right now, in terms of studying. I have Cota and her reviews are scary.

We had orientation yesterday, so much information and content. Quiz on the 2nd day for syllabus and ADN manual. please does anyone have an idea of what kind of questions we should expect?

The quiz is basically to see if you understand. For the manual it's just policies and procedures, not the whole manual. Just go over them. You will be fine. :)

If you have more questions just log into Chats/Hangouts and post your questions in Dr. Cs chat room. All the nursing students from the program are there. If you haven't been added, you will be added soon. Or you can email Scudmore about getting into the chat as well. Hope this helps!
