Hello everyone, this is my first post here as I've found myself to be in quite a troubling position. The science prerequisite requirements for the AVC nursing program is to have a total GPA of 2.5 or higher in anatomy, physiology, and microbiology. I've taken all three of these classes, however I've only gotten a grade of C in each of them.. meaning my total science GPA is a 2.0.. I haven't retaken any yet, and I know we're allowed to only retake one class. I'm requesting some help on information and advice..
1) How do I enroll in one of the science classes again? It (the registration page) tells me to visit the counselor to retrieve a paper to fill out and have sent to the dean.. but every time I try to make an appointment I'm greeted with the rude "speedy-counselor" who doesn't ever seem interested in actually helping, and finds any means to shoo me away.
2) I need to pass the class I retake with an A to have a high enough GPA to enroll in the nursing program, what if I only receive a B? I know this doesn't sound very optimistic, but earning three Cs in a row has damaged me a little bit. I'm tearing my hair out as it is, this unanswered question is just haunting me.
3) Please be as blunt and honest as possible, I would love the encouragement but I need to know.. how screwed am I? What I mean is, how likely is it for me to still be approved for the program after retaking a class and initially earning only Cs? I asked for honestly and bluntness because this is my dream, to be a nurse. No matter how grim it looks I will fight for it. I know this post may seem very calm, but like I said, I'm tearing my hair our and resisting the urge to scream at everything (mostly myself), but I will reach my dream, no matter how unattainable it seems.
This post sounds grim, so any of your "what felt like academic rock bottom to reaching your goal" success stories will be helpful. Again, I apologoze for how negative this (and I) may sound! Thank you for any responses and advice, it is greaty appreciated.
