To obtain an answer to this question, you might need to contact the nurses board in the state in which you wish to practise.
Fully accredited Independent Nurse practitioners, per se, are few and far between ,here in Australia. It's still a relatively new concept, but growing.
Though, many nurses fulfill this role everyday across the country in the outback, but are not 'legally' Nurse practitioners!
Sorry am unable to actually answer your specific question.
Someone else here might have the answer..... ??????
Practitioners, anyone??????

It is state dependant on you Drug administration act, which confusingly might not be called that but some other name. Your hospital pharmacist will tell you what and where to look the information up.
