I decided to do something about it.
If you are:
why not do it yourself! The average age of nurses is 45. Who is going to look after us in 20 years?
To contact the PM:

To contact the Health Minister, Nicola Roxon,
Wow, never thought of myself as being a political activist before! But I figure this is important. We need more of us...
A noble and ideal idea for those who travel between states and wish/need to work in various states.
Been there. Done that.
Paid a fortune in reg fees in various states. I was a military spouse back in the day. Moved often!
I doubt however, that it'll get off the ground.
The states are a bit precious when it comes to a willingness to change their policies etc, or to compromise.
I hope for the sake of the present and future generations, it does change. But I'm not holding my breath.
Good for you, Jay! Nice to see another advocate and activist in the nursing ranks! :)
I hereby hand the baton over to you! lol
I've done my bit in the 60's-70's-80's-90's! :)

Wouldn't it be great if the authorities finally saw the light and created Australia wide registration? I know that they have been talking about this for a long time, and I have heard that it may be happening this year. But I believe this is actually one of the reasons that may stop ppl nursing! The amount of money for a travelling nurse is phenomenal if you have to pay registration for every state.
Out of interest, how much do you pay in your state?
In the NT we pay $50, and $75 if you have just started in the NT, or you have just become a new grad and have just been put on the register...
I know other states have to pay a fortune...
