Austin Community College ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

38.86 today and 42.13 when I multiply by 7 instead of 6

Aw, man. That's a bummer. You're still probably golden though.

Yeah I figured the scores sent from college board wouldn’t make it in time since I have to go through the archived report process. This is honestly ridiculous. The credits awarded for AP exams I took are on my official A&M transcript. This should be good enough...

Hopefully the 4 points I’m losing out on won’t cost me admission into the program.

Believe me I had the same reaction. It took forever to get mine. But I kept in contact with Lela every step of the way. She told me to apply without it and just hope it comes in before they calculate ranking scores.
You literally have to fax or usps mail this request sheet to them. I used my credit card so I could at least see when it was processed. Then my copy arrived and let me tell you - I was mad. They didn’t even send a full sheet of paper! It was literally 1/3 of a sheet of regular printer with my scores on it. Not official at all. AND they wouldn’t take my personal copy either! It had to be sent to ACC and opened by them.

Go ahead and do it now. It might be faster than mine was because I was doing it in the middle of the summer which is crunch time for the college board (right after ap tests). You’ll need it to graduate.

The application page has been updated to say acceptance letters will go out the well of October 14th or 21st.

Hi guys, Ms. Cindy had to fix my ranking also. because I retook microbiology and it was not updated on the ranking so instead of 42.5 I got 45.5 now. I am very confident that I have a better chance this time.

Is this your second time applying? If so may I ask what your original ranking points was before u retook micro and the additional 5 points when reapplying?

I'm making a spreadsheet of scores people have shared with me. I should have a pretty good sample size soon!

So if you're reading this, tell me your score!

I got 38.28. On another note, i previously took the skills course a few years ago and did not get a petition to take it again this go around. I was told I would just have to practice in the skills lab before the semester starts. So if anyone has a syllabus to let me know what I need to know, that would be helpful! I know the nursing page has a list of skills we needed to master, but just wanted to cover my bases to practice more effectively!

I actually made PDFs of all of the slide shows and learning sheets.
shoot me an email [email protected] and I’ll send em over.
