Austin Community College ADN Spring 2020

Published

Hi pre-nursing students!

So I know it's extremely early but I figured I'd go ahead and start a thread for Spring 2020 applicants. I'm a huge worry bug and have tons of questions and would love to give and receive advice throughout this process. I'm completing my last two prerequisites this spring and will be applying when the application opens on May 15th! Tell me about your journey and ask questions about mine!

Got mine! 39.33

I got a 39.33 as well! Is the max for first time applicants 44 points?

Someone please please please help me!!!

So there’s a discrepancy in the ranking scores....

I took 4 prerequisites and all 3 corequisites. I took an AP exam that placed me out of English 1301. I thought that since I got 3 credit hours for this class, it would be counted as a completed course. Basically when they did my calculation they multiplied by GPA by 6 instead of 7, thus lowering my points.

Am I correct in that I should be getting credit for 7 completed courses?

You have to have college board send ACC your scores for them to be considered “valid.” It took over a month to get mine from 2006. My ranking score includes mine.

I knew a girl last year that got in with like a 30! I just wish we had a better idea on our odds. It all really depends on how many ppl applied & reapplied & their grades Ofcourse! ??‍♀️

I'm making a spreadsheet of scores people have shared with me. I should have a pretty good sample size soon!

So if you're reading this, tell me your score!

This was taken from my A&M portal. Do you think this would suffice for validity? @rachwiz F566FF5E-1FBC-4008-A590-2358521E33D5.thumb.jpeg.dc4b67a47792adaf5aea14854346e327.jpeg

No. Mine from my bachelors degree did not count. You will need to get your scores from college board and have them sent directly to ACC. It costs $25 and takes about a month. It’s too late to have them added to your score this go around.
I would email them but don’t get your hopes up too much. They told me directly that anything other than what comes directly from college board to ACC is not “valid.”

Yeah I figured the scores sent from college board wouldn’t make it in time since I have to go through the archived report process. This is honestly ridiculous. The credits awarded for AP exams I took are on my official A&M transcript. This should be good enough...

Hopefully the 4 points I’m losing out on won’t cost me admission into the program.

What score did you get today?
