Austin Community College ADN Fall 2020

Published

This is getting real and I'm eager for someone to be nervous with. I'm waiting for them to announce the Fall 2019 HESI, and am worried I'll drop the ball on something. Let's make a community here!

Looking at last year, they sent it acceptance letters on May 15. A few more weeks for y'all! This is the worst part!

I remember how this felt last semester. Our magic number was 36.5 and higher.

I am terrified! Truthfully my grades aren’t that good. I think I got an 88 on the HESI and I have to retake skills ?

I’m so eager to hear anything at this point! The uncertainty of all this business+quarantine boredom=blegh

So I was talking with my Health Sciences guidance counselor (which btw I’m trying to knock out my bachelor requirements some this Summer and I’m petrified of statistics ?) anyway .. I asked her if she felt they will still be accepting students for entry into nursing this fall and I won’t lie- she hesitated and did not sound 100% hopeful so now I’m freaking tf out

Well, that is not fun news at all. Yikes. Thank you for sharing. Praying for the best for us all eager to begin school.

Also, I took statistics and really was not excited, since math is not my best subject. I took Christina Dittmar. She was super helpful in office hours and helped me tremendously to get an A. For an added plus, she also allows a cheat sheet for exams.

The application page has been updated with the info of when you will receive individual rank score, more nursing skills classes, and acceptance letters.

They're definitely going to accept but I think it may be less than normal because Level 1s this semester were given the option to postpone to next semester, plus if they reserve spots for any who fail out.

Sorry didn’t mean to bring about depression on the subject but I work in a hospital and two of my coworkers are clinical instructors for ACC and they couldn’t tell me honestly if they are going to be accepting this fall because they don’t know for sure what’s going to happen. ? but it’s all in the air- I’m trying to stay positive! Although it’s hard when I’m working in a hospital that has COVID patients ?

I prefer reality over ignorance of the situation. I’d guess our schooling will be unusual and maybe a little unsteady, but they’re gonna need more nurses...

So I'm considering retaking Pharm bc it's the only class I got a C in and I'm nervous about it, If I get accepted with the C will still be able to start in the fall or If I don't and retake it and get accepted with my new grade will I be able to start in august? Because I mean technically my grade will be submitted before the Fall semester begins.

I got accepted with a C in AP I, plus 2 Bs.

I got As in everything else.
