Austin Community College ADN Fall 2020

Published

This is getting real and I'm eager for someone to be nervous with. I'm waiting for them to announce the Fall 2019 HESI, and am worried I'll drop the ball on something. Let's make a community here!

My last name starts with a "B". Assuming they're going alphabetically, be on the lookout for your acceptance letter.

You get in?

Was your ranking pretty high?

Does anyone in this thread recommend eastview or the clinical education center? I really don’t know which ones better so any info would be helpful!!

OK good! Maybe they're going by ranking... I HOPE! MY last name begins with A...so I hope! Congratulations!!!

CEC only has 40 in the cohort so that could be better. Their schedule was more accelerated than ours at RRC.

I've never heard complaints about EVC.

When do we start doing clinicals? & it’s two times a week, every week?

Oh man, everything is so up in the air right now. It's twice a week, usually back to back days but I don't think we were in our facility until like the third week? Something like that. There's clinical orientation and computer training and stuff to do first.

Okay thank you?

I just got my acceptance.

I was wondering if anyone had any information on the skills checkoff the first week of school. I had nursing skills during the shut down, so I am needing to learn the hands on skills that I did not get to practice during the class. Not sure if they will be opening the labs yet, so I will be practicing at on my own.

TIA

Congratulations!

Checkoff is entry and exit measures and vitals. Know what PPE precautions are needed for common illnesses.
