Have no idea where to start !?
I have a UK passport so will it be easier to get my registration in britain first? then try portugal? I think its going to be a long process!
If anyone has any information that would be a great help!
thanks

What exactly are you trying to get done, licensure or certification? It is hard to tell from your post.
I am a critical care nurse of 4 years. I would like to get registered in Portugal and find a Job, except i dont know much portugese yet.
I was trained in Australia (born here)
I hold UK citizenship (a passport)
Thanks for any info
As long as you hold a UK passport, you should be able to apply directly to Portugal for licensure, but you may wish to check with them on this.

Hi! I am a nurse from Portugal. With a UK citizenship, you shouldnt have any problems, because of the European Union. The institution that regulates Nursing in Portugal is called 'Ordem dos Enfermeiros'. Probably you will need to send them your certificates, but there isnt any examination. Their website is www.ordemenfermeiros.pt . Good Luck :)

hello!!
i am a portuguese nurse working in portugal. at the moment i am applying to ontario-canada but if u need something related to nursing in Portugal just ask.
where do u plan to work? "ordem dos enfermeiros" will need your certificates and after you pay your fees you can work. If you have a uk citizenship you can work here with no problem. Be aware that there is a lot of unemployment in the nursing field and that the wages are very low compared to Uk for example. Expect to earn per month around 1200 euros working 35 h/week on rotating shifts.
thanks very much for the info!
we were wanting to move to the algarve region
just looking into it at this stage.
are the english speaking hospitals? I work in Intensive care normally but dont mind what area, its more for the lifestyle!
thanks again!
