Hey I wanted to start a thread for anyone going to AirForce 2012 COT

ATLRN0828, I'm still deciding on when to tell my manager. I actually just started working at my current hospital in January. I plan to leave on my 6 months mark (in July). My friends were telling me not to tell them too soon, cuz the manager might treat me "differently." So I'm stumped... Any advice on that?

Hey 4E.SM

I have heard the same thing but not sure if it's true or not. I least plan on taking a month off to travel and see family/friends who live out of state. I've never really known anyone to give more than the normal 2 weeks and usually they were able to work work until the end with no problem. Sorry I have no real advice; I'm not sure though . Let me know what you decide.

Hey everyone!

I talked to my recruiter yesterday and my security clearance came back. Now she said we are just waiting on Congress to approve the scroll and that should happen anyday now. Has anyone else been progressing?

No progress yet. Talked to recruiter yesterday and he said I should be commissioning next month since my degree paperwork finally came through. Read somewhere that we could get our IDs with our commissioning paperwork and drivers license at any base before COT, anybody know if this is the case? Would like to get mine and my wife's as soon as possible.

Well I dont know how much progress is this, but my clearance is done, and I am commissioning this weekend. I am an active reserve and my clearance was my 10 years reinvestigation and active duty is using it. Good lock to everyone in this process.

From what my recruiter said we could not get our IDs until we get to COT. She said she has tried to get it before using the commissioning documents and orders but they wouldn't do it. If you are able to do it let us know; I would like to get mine done earlier than COT too. I will ask my recruiter again when I speak to her.

Congrats on commissioning this weekend :yeah:. Are you having a big or small ceremony? I will probably be commissioning within the next week or so.

To ATLRN0828I am just doing a small ceremony, but in front of my current Reserve unit. We will see how it goes.

I'm sure it will be nice willtsmith! I think mine will probably be something small as well, like at the recruiters office. You're one step closer to COT.

Hey guys on the topic of ID, I went to our local reserve base and got mine this week. My recruiter checked to make sure I was in the system so I didn't waste any time. All I had to present was a photo ID and one other form of ID. Hope you have luck getting yours. Lots of good discounts!

Hey Kuhnb1788

That is good to hear. I will ask my recruiter again because she initially said that I could not get ours until we go to COT. So your name has to be in the system first. I haven't commissioned yet, so mine is probably not. I really just don't want my mom to have to worry about getting my son's ID later, if it could just be done now. Thanks again for the info.
