I am a May graduate, I started applying for jobs in November...after some ups and downs I accepted a position in March. I don't think it is ever to early to begin looking and putting your name out there. The recruiters will take it in to consideration that you have not graduated yet....good luck!
I grad. in Dec 09 and got a job in April - and only because I had been a CNA/clinical student at the hospital so I made some connections. My advice: get your foot in the door in the hospital you want to work at (or is near you) by working or even volunteering. When a job comes up your friends will be helpful, and you will have met and hopefully impressed the nurse manager with your attitude/work ethic. And stay positive even though you keep hearing bad news - you can make it.
Good Luck new grads!

I'm curious when everyone who's graduating in November is going to start looking/sending resumes out for jobs. I called one hospital (my #1 pick) and the nurse recruiter stated that I could begin applying online now. With the job market being as dry as it is, I would love to start early but the question is: How early? I really don't want to compete with the June graduates b/c they'll actually have their license in hand and I'll still be, at that point, 5 months away from graduating.
So, who's starting now?
